umm yah ok...no offense but i have never seen anyone post such long replies yet not really say anything. Reminds me of high school...you know didn't read the book but you've got an essay due so you just bullshit the entire thing. That's what your posts in this thread remind me of...a little too heavy on the crapfactor for me.

Stop self professing. Which means, stop trying to impose what you do in your life on me.

It's easier to just admit that you're intimidated by longer posts. That's not unusual you know? If a person doesn't care to read the subject matter, it's very normal for them to shy away from larger post. Especially.

Trying to associate me with perpetuating ignorance doesn't "help you", silly. It makes you seem more incompetent because you're taking the thread away from the discussion, and not addressing the issues in that discussion head on. I think that's called the "straw man tactic".

It also contradicts the fact that I write alot, and show everyone the proof for the points I make throughout them. Pictures, videos, source art or literature..ect. It's always in all my post dating back to when I first got on MkO.

If you choose not to read them,

a.) you might not have time
b.) You don't care about the substance or the topic
c.) you're timid to longer post (which is cool with me like I said. Just don't try to sit there and insinuate that I don't know what I'm talking about. haha..)

Last thing here, if you allowed yourself to type that reply in reference to me, then you obviously don't know how thorough I actually am. lol I don't "bullshit through" anything......and I edit alot. hm..

Anyway, the point is, the substance for this discussion is within all of our replies. Long post or not, if you do not wish to constructively participate, then "get out the kitchen"?

Either way man.

Oh I can pick apart posts and rant with the best of them...since I’m a little before your time I’ll pardon your ignorance.

The way I see it there isn’t really a need to debate anything you posted since its all pure fanboy garbage. It’s like asking wtflegend what the best fighting game of all time is. Everyone already knows his answer so what’s the point in asking? The same can be said about you. You might as well have a bumper sticker glued to your forehead that says I love Raiden. In all those exceedingly long posts that you so worked hard on there isn’t anything worthy of debate.

But since I enjoyed all those subtle insults you managed to slip in I’ll indulge you.

Within the rules and mechanics of the MK game Sonya faces off against Raiden. It’s entirely possible for Sonya to defeat Raiden. You don’t need to agree or disagree this is fact.

Now apply the same situation to the movie Watchmen. Doctor Manhattan is attacked by a female soldier. It doesn’t matter what kind of fighting abilities, or weapons she has she cannot harm him and he can vaporize her with a thought. This is also fact.

All this crap about looking deeper into Raiden’s character and his storyline is stupid. In every MK game that Raiden has ever been in I can choose a puny human like Sonya and kick his ass.

All your speculation on Raiden’s powers before he became mortal is more fanboy bullshit used in a weak attempt to provide some hope that this obviously weaker character would stand some kind of a chance in a one on one fight.

So stop being bias take a step back and forget the fact that you think Raiden is the "bestest fighter" and look at these two characters objectively.

-- See? That's that "stupid mistake" I was talking about earlier. What you're attempting to do is "judge me" based on some other experience you've had with others, and clump everyone in under that "fanboy" umbrella label.

What you can't see clearly, is that the "pure fanboy garbage" that I've written (according to you), IS the source information you're gonna have to use to make your points about this character.

So welcome to fanboyism I guess. *shrugs* We're using the same information to present different standpoints about this bout. That's why I told you earlier, that I don't give a fuck about you callin' me a fanboy (who cares but you?). Especially because if you're gonna participate in this discussion, you're gonna do the same thing I'm doing (bring up facts about the character to support your argument)...just in opposition to me, instead of in agreement with me.

By behaving that way, you showcase the 2nd and 3rd definitions of the word, and you're persistent too (whew). And you're doing it, just so you can label people, fanboy? o-kee-doe-kee..

"Stupid":

(2.) Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes.

The careless mistake you're making, is judgment, which is a poor decision. The reason why the decision to make that judgment is a mistake, is because you are a part of that same "fandom" that you are implying only applies to people who produce long post. When the content of this discussion alone, implicates you. aka, you're talking about Raiden too, so I guess we need another sticker.

(3.) Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless.

The foolish aspect becomes apparent when you insist that the label applies, without knowing the character of the person you are speaking to; OR when you do not consider the validity of the content in the discussion through those post. . To "insist" on that merit, marks you with the lack of care enough to continue to make the same stupid---mistake in labeling someone purely based on "how long their post are."

No insult to you doggy. But anyone can see that is a stupid mistake.

And in that case, the advise to you would be that you probably should invest a little more time in finding out about the person before you "label them". But suit yourself, and excuse me if I call that behavior what it is. It's "Stupid" to do that, especially when you're a part of the MK community, and a part of this Raiden vs Manhattan discussion. Fanboy.

-- I'm not MKFlegend btw. Our only similarity is the tendency to both have long post. Says nothing for the content that we present though. And that's not even a shot at MKF, it's simply the difference between two individuals.

-- And therefor, no. The same thing cannot be said about me because we are not Ermac. lol

He and I are not the same in most any way.

Hey, I come here for entertainment (haha). If I can't entertain or be entertained, then what's the point, right?

Nikodemus Wrote:

True.

However the same would be true, if we swap Raiden for Manhattan. Within the rules of any video game, mind you. Because without those rules, no game would be fun to actually play.

Level playing field, remember? Ya can't have an all powerful character on screen, as they are written to be, and expect to receive a good game. God type characters, have to have some disadvantages built in to them within the mechanics of actual gameplay. It's common sense.

So I don't disagree with you, but that is unequivocally narrow minded. Why? Because it does not take into account "what makes the character", and what makes a character, is the written description of the character. See that? Videos, and actual gameplay are supposed to justify the written description of the character. Not the other way around.

That's also an undeniable fact. A character can start with a picture, but the definition of that character starts happening with a concept, pen, and a piece of paper.

So if you neglect to consider what is written (aka "what defines the character"), the path to narrow mindedness is inevitably your destination.
==

Basically, ya can't size them up like that because Raidens media (video games//gameplay) requires a limitation to the characters written description, in order to let the concept of "fun" exist.
Manhattans media on the other hand (the movie), doesn't require any limitation to the written description of his character.

Raiden HAS to give up alot of what is possible for him to do, while Manhattan does not. That's not a level playing field. Now add to that, that alot of Raidens written description...is nonexistent.

-- All I'm saying, is put them in the same ring so they can have a fight. Choose one, put them both in a video game //gameplay setting, or put them both in a movie setting. Because video game gameplay vs movie doesn't work. Movies have more "possibility potential" than video games by default of construction.

Nikodemus Wrote:

Again true, but also narrow minded. How?

Because what you are attempting to do, is utilize what was written into the screen play of that movie for the character Manhattan, without also utilizing what is written into Raidens character in order to establish a bout between them.

What you're doing is, you're taking a common sense rule for video game development (we have to limit the god characters so they're not overpowered, no matter what the character description says he can do.), and then trying to pit that up against the presentation of Manhattan in the movie (we can do whatever we want in a movie as long as the comic book description of this character says it's possible).

Don't you see how that is the wrong approach?

So like I mentioned earlier, don't you know that Raiden can do things like practice dark arts? Well, that's not gonna be found in gameplay vs Sonya, is it? It's going to be found in the written material about the character, outside the Mortal Kombat contest. It's canon information, so we must consider that it is "something he can do".

Raiden can also fly btw, and although that's not written material, it is a canon video that supports what it written about the character. So again, we must consider that it is "something he can do".

Let alone anything else.

- No, it's not stupid. It is out of consideration for each of these two characters' descriptions, and full definitions that the discussion continues. That's not "stupid", that's intelligence beyond an obvious fandom for Mortal Kombat.

Nobody in here has said anything like "OmG Raiden iz teh b3st! N0bodee c4n b33t himz!"

If you merely skimmed, you'd find inquiries into each characters qualities. You'd also find consideration for those qualities vs each other. But you're too busy being careless though. You don't wanna even skim, you just want to make the "stupid mistake" and be judgmental.

- One more time, "before Raiden became mortal" is not my concern, or my argument. Where are you getting that from? Again, you're too busy being careless. lol I've said this to you already in a previous post.

Nikodemus Wrote:

Again, you busy being careless. THAT carelessness, is allowing you to make the mistake in assuming that I somehow actually have a bias against Manhattan. Or that I'm a fan of Raiden to the point of a bias. Not true.

Aheh, your determination to establish "fanboyism" is impressive man. It is only allowing you to see that yea, I am a Raiden fan. That doesn't make me bias or anything else though.

Y'gotta slow down and let some of this stuff penetrate. I won't hold it against ya. lol
Wow Predator has wayyyyyyyyy too much time on his hands if he can write all that. All his combined posts are so long they could probably be published as a novel. Whats worse is that this has got to be the most useless debate ever.

Glad to see Nikostupidis still making pointless posts and thinking he knows me ha, ha? *sigh* Yeah, I can make lame attempts "at insults" too but really now, hell most don't even refer to me as Legend or mkf legend anymore but rather MKF for short...but this guy's been MIA til now so I suppose to him he still thinks that's actually funny...sad lol.

First off all, yeah everyone knows I like MK but I also know a lot about it. Example: it's history, roots, story, gameplay(which I'm sure I can educate you there especially) Then again this is an MK site so why are you even on here to begin with if "you hate MK" kind of dumb and redundant, don't you think? I'm pretty certain based off your post Niko I can educate you TONS when it comes to MK.

Ask Predator, he can vouche for me I'm not a typical casual player, I know what I'm doing and why certain MK's are very good regardless of what you or other ignorant MK haters may think;) often MK at times gets hated on here and elsewhere for boarderline dumb reasons with gameplay yet anyone that really knows a thing about gameplay knows MKDC is a good game.

As for similarities, I think Predator and I are similar but different at the same time like most people that aren't the same. I like Raiden a lot but he's not my favorite character within the series, just one of them say top 5 but rather Fujin, Ermac are my favorite guys. All we're saying is that there's more to Raiden that meets the eye....I do think he brings up good points concerning the whole "mortal form" vs. "Dr. M mortal form" as oppose to when they're both powerful. But yeah, since both characters never fought one another what's the harm in speculating the "what if's"?

Ok guys, let's chill the fuck out.

......and let's talk about a character that actually has a chance against Dr. Manhatten.

The Celestials. Would Dr. Manhatten get pwned by the Celestials.

I think it's worth some research.
