after a loooooooooooong debate with myself here are my votes... My reasons as why or my positive criticism would be on the other forum, like someone mentioned, to make it easier to count votes here... Again, all 6 KAK are unique and great, but much more appealing in a way...

Match 1- Khaali

Tough call both are very good characters but I have to go with Khaali just because I think she is the more original of the two.

Match 2- Ekimaru

I think Ekiumaru had a better story and design overall. I also think that Erebus having a total of four forms makes him a bit overdone in my opinion.

Match 3- Terra

Terra is a very strong character, and I can see her going a ways in this tournament. I thought Malcom was a good character as well but not as creative as Terra was.

I feel like this stinks. All we have are those from MK4-D.

BRACKET 1: KHALLI
Both characters were pretty cool. khalli is kinda similar to sheeva (in fact her gameplay is EXACTLY what i wanted sheeva to have), but the gameplay is original and sounds cool. luna, i feel, has the cooler story, however she simply has too many moves that are described as "basically" or "kinda like" another existing special move for her gameplay to really seem original. therefore, my vote goes to khalli.

BRACKET 2: EREBUS
Quite simply, erebus is the more original/unique character. he has a solid story and gameplay different to anything already in the game. ekimaru was an all right entry, but none of his gameplay sounded particularly new and his first fatality is almost a carbon copy of smoke's first fatality in mk2011.

BRACKET 1: TERRA
and by a mile too. really good entry, best of the bunch today imo. good story, solid (if fairly straightforward) gameplay and an overall cool concept. malcolm, unfortunately, is simply not up to the standard which is being set by other entries and will no doubt be much further raised as the competition progresses. his story is basically kano in reverse and his special moves consist of precisely three projectiles and one spin move. terra takes this one no contest.

I'll give feedback to everyone as promised though, either in an edit on
this post or in the other thread.

Great work everyone, all six were interesting and creative. Great potential for strong characters here :)

Match 1, Bracket 1: Voting for Khaali. Bitch seems fucking scary. I'm almost afraid that if I don't vote for her, she'll come out of the screen and kill me. Also, it kind of bothered me that there are more of the upper class Shokan running around in the games. You'd think the Peasants would have more people present doing the grunt work.

Match 1, Bracket 2:Gotta put my vote for Erebus simply because, despite being "the most powerful necromancer in Outworld", he seems more like a Mortal Kombat character. Ekimaru seems to be too much of an anime character trope with a (very) few MK references thrown into his bio. He is a great character, but just felt very out of place.

Match 1, Bracket 3: Voting for Malcolm because I'm a fan of "normals" in the series. This contest in particular seems to be a bit weighted down with gods. Sure his appearance seems a little derivative due to it being based on comparisons, but that's sometimes the only way a person is able to accurately describe something. I was able to get the whole picture pretty easily. His backhand throw and ballistic knife attacks are also too similar. At the same time, I just can't stop thinking the image of Terra is just a slightly altered Big Barda from DC. Also, she seems to exist in what I'm guessing would be the MK10 timeline.

I'll say that all the described characters were very intriquing. The criteria that I use in evaluating the characters are as follows:

1. Back Story - I think this portion should give some sort of incite on the persona of the character, their outlook on the world and motivation. I think there should be some kind of movitation for why the character wants to enter Mortal Kombat and their relationships or ties with other characters if any.

2. Specialty Moves - I think this will have the greatest affect on gameplay in the video game. How their fighting style would be translated into that actual video game itself. Is it unique to other characters and will their moves provide room for creativity, combos or expansion?

3. Character's Attire - The image of the character is important in my humble opinion. The look of the character I think to a degree has an effect on how the character will be perceived throughout the game.

4. Overall Creativity - I look to see the character is unique or will they standout from already established characters. I don't think a character needs to be completely original in that every work has it's influences and sources to draw on, but rather do they have their own identity set apart from other established characters. Would people enjoy playing as your character in the video game? Is the character viable for future MK games?

well I had a mini asthma attack yesterday, thankfully im better now, so i couldnt really vote. But if i still can, i would vote for:

No, not at all. Some people were probably too busy with real life stuff or didn't happen to care about the characters in this particular round. Or they might have forgot it started today.

I think it may be fare the participants if the round stayed open a little longer due to the excitment generated by Skarlets release, many people visiting today may have otherwise been distracted.

Round is over. Have to stick to my original 24 hour rule set and not bend them for special circumstances. However, I'm fairly sure the results wouldn't be altered by the two voters who came after 8:07pm EST.
