Nightwolf has fans???????

Anyways i think Nightwolf's moves are looking fun, particularly his reflect, and I like how his arrows stay in his opponents for a little while but not too long. I have a feeling his alt is going to be completely naked except for a loin cloth and a feather...... i wouldn't complain if we had more skimpy males. :P

Johnny Cage already has the suit and tie thing going on with his alt. A bit too similar if they go that route, granted it's an easy alt to make since they already have a basis.

I have complained about his costume... Mostly because he looks like the way he's always looked: bland and boring. His gameplay looks cool, but I've never really liked the way he looks. There's nothing wrong with his looks, I just think he looks... well... boring. There's nothing about him that attracts me. If he looked something more like Chief Thunder from Killer Instinct, I would like him even more... His alt in MKD was a nice attempt at that, but it kinda failed.

No, he's simply not the character for me.

It's not really a complaint more than it is disappointment. Even though he does look almost identical to the old version, he still managed to look pretty bland and boring this game. He looked awesome back in MK3-Trilogy. Maybe it's just the translation that technology has made for this costume that making him look less than impressive.

How about giving him cues of a voodoo doctor for an alt? Shaman and Voodoo Doctors are kin more than a few ways. Just make sure to keep the Native American cues and he could turn out good.

I don't mind his costume. It works. I wouldn't mind some blue accents as a call back to the original, or the original as DLC. I wouldn't mind his a historian alt costume. I'd rather it be something new. I always hated his mowhawk alt that was in Deception I think.

His fatality is a little boring... Good thing his win pose is awesome! I think It'd be more interesting if he didn't use axes in a fatality. Who would see that coming? How about a fatality that focuses on his shaman abilities, like a sin eater fatality?

I agree with the historian look for his alt. There aren't very many realistic costumes in the MK world and I think this would add some variety. And I don't think this would have to look anything like Johnny's alt. Khakis, a red bowtie, maybe some suspenders, little round glasses. I think it would look pretty bad ass. It would also be very different from his main costume, which is how I feel the alts should be.
As far as fatalities go, I'd love to see his light beam fatality make a return. That was prolly my favorite one from MK3.

Icebaby said something about people not having said anything about his costume, so I just expressed my opinion about him and mentioned that I would like it if they made him look more interesting, because then I would actually think he was a cool character. Adding to the conversation...

I love using Nightwolf in MK3. His combos and special moves are very effective IMO. Regarding his appearance, I prefer his MK3 and MKD primary costumes. His mohawk alternate look didn't do it for me. In MK9, he does look a little bland, but he stays true to his original appearance. I don't think it's great, but it's suitable. And I don't understand all the hate for his fatality. Sure, it's simple, but it fits Nightwolf.. His new one is better than that lame hatchet electrocution in MK3 and it expands on his MKD head split fatality.

Wasn't he described in the novelization of Annihilation as wearing a Stone Temple Pilots t-shirt? I wouldn't mind if they gave him a completely modern American design for an alt. The less stereotyping the better.

I'd actually want more stereotyping when it comes to Nightwolf. He's a native american shaman, his culture and the things he can do is amazing, so he should be more of a representant of that. I'm not one to support stereotypes, but in Nightwolf's case, it would really help him!

Hmm... Maybe with Ninja's idea of making him look a little bit more like an American wouldn't also hurt as well. But I still think it would be a cool idea to make him look more of what he is when he's not fighting to save humanity.

Am I the only one here who would rather see him embrace his culture and shamanhood in the way he appears?



This is rather over the top, but it would be awesome to see him wear some animal skin and have trinkets and totems in his outfit.

I think what we need is some more stereotyping. I'd love to see him in a full indian headdress. It's a horrible idea IMO to make him just an ordinary looking guy with a t shirt. It just screams political correctness and that really ruffles my jimmies.

Just have his alternate look like Indiana Jones minus the hat. Bam, done.

But I think that a more modern look would be awesome as an alternate. I've seen some Native Americans in my community that wear jeans, cowboy boots, plaid shirt and a cowboy hat. I could see Nightwolf rocking some mean swag hahaha.

I'm still just mad his vest doesn't have the red and white wolf face painted on the back.

When a character has a logo, you don't fucking take that away. Branding and iconography are an important tool in character design.

You couldn't see a good alt or something without more steretyping? I completely disagree with stereotyping. Especially when the core concept of most of these characters, Nightwolf included, are very strong and healthy ones.

A Shaman is a medicine man or healer / voodoo doctor / spiritual interpreter. He's a "good guy" necromancer..."An American Monk", so to speak. There's plenty of stuff they could do with that without resorting to even more stereotypes.

I wonder if they would have an alt. where Nightwolf is wearing a wolf's pelt on his head and back??? Could be cool, but I wish they would focus on his primary costume first......it's too dull and not enough things on it to make it POP like the other costumes.

His current costume is already pretty traditional. A headdress isn't necessary. It's both stereotypical and boring, really.

I always saw him as just a modern guy with deep roots in his culture. That's what made him appeal to me in MK3, I guess in part due to the strong aboriginal community where I live.

I think they went a little too far with the mystical shaman thing in MKD. I actually prefer the way Litefoot portrayed him in MKA to the way he was portrayed in that game. Probably the best part of that movie.
