the characters don't look nearly as plastically as they did before, and the sheer level of detail the characters have on their outfits makes up for it in my eyes.

i don't mine mortal kombats cartoony look and i infact prefer it because it's a cartoony franchise, this isn't exaclty a series based in reality to me the look fits the game very well.

In that context, all fighters look "cartoony or CGI-ish" but this game definitely looks a lot better, darker tone etc.

I think is anyone has a beef with the graphics honestly at this point, needs some serious glasses or might be blind all together.

They look great.

As for the trailers, ehh I like them a lot but I like the gameplay, Ed Boon vids more honestly.

The graphics could definitely be better, but that's not to say they are not still fantastic at the moment. I'd be worried about anyone who can't see the vast improvement since MKA.

Graphics are fine...animations look exactly like the utter garbage from the last 3 games. That is what pisses me off the most....they're all stiffer than an erection.

And the gameplay itself looks to be about as deep as a puddle of water.

all i can say is, is that im excited because it looks BETTER but not up there with how advanced the other fighting games such as Tekken and Soul calibur are now...it still has the cartoon, stiffness look. Its not nearly as dark and gritty as they said it would look.

Seriously though, Midway really isn't that great when it comes to graphics. Their better at gameplay.

i think the graphics look pretty good. if they deliver the gameplay tho, i won't complain a bit. but yeah, i think with the horsepower they are working with, they should be able to get the character models a bit better than they are.

I'd honestly be worried for anyone that can't see why this game is easily on par if not better in some ways then other fighters currently as well.

After looking at the comparison between MKA and MKvsDCU,I can see a difference with the graphics.Not a big difference but a difference nonetheless.

I don't think their pushing the PS3 and X360 hardware to its fullest extent nor do I think the graphics are par with other fighting games either.You compare DOA4 graphics to this and this game looks like a joke in that department and seeing how DOA4 is pretty old by now,theres no reason why this game can't look as good as that.


Am I satisfied with the graphics?No, but it still looks like a fun game from the trailers so far and that as me excited about it.

It looks way better than MK:A, but so far MK vs DC isn't doing the Unreal Engine any justice whatsoever.

Of course it's better than MKA. Everything is better than MKA. Soul Calibur for Dreamcast was better than MKA.

It's not a compliment to say that it's better than MKA. Neither is making something better than MKA an accomplishment.

The simple fact remains that every other Xbox360/PS3 fighter, including launch titles, leaves this shit in the dust.

They need to step up in a way I quite frankly don't think they're capable of.

I don't have a problem with the gameplay in general. Seems good enough for me... But DC seriously is ruining this. The MK characters look really great and detailed. The DC people have boring costumes and look so drab compared to the MK it's not even funny. Would it kill them to be a little more creative?

Not really but I can see why a the "haters" believe that bs.

Gotta love all that punching in other fighters, yet not a spec of "damage" pathetic....

I thought I read an article somewhere that said the animations in MK vs DCU are tweaked from the MKD engine, and not from the ground up.

As for the graphics....ehhh they could be better. I'm a bit disappointed with that and some of the gameplay. I hope things get better, but knowing the track record of the past MK games; I certainly have my doubts. Hopefully by the end my fears will be gone.

In game graphics are fine. They're not a huge leap from last gen, but it's important to recognize that they are better. By "fine" I don't mean "barley tolerable" either. I mean, that they're perfectly fine for what this game is trying to do. It's just not something I'm overly impressed with up to this point. And I don't look at alot of games so...idk what the deal is here.

Rendering is not so fortunate though, sharing everything with last gen quality.

Overall I'm not impressed so, No...I'm not "satisfied" with the trailers, or the graphics. I want them to supersede the best out again.....do that again, in this department. They haven't done it yet so...I'm still waiting to rave about it.

The graphics aren't groundbreaking but are a mammoth improvement from MKA. The character don't look fugly and waxy.

Compared to the craptastic, big muscled, cartoon-ish, plastic action figure graphics of MK: DA, MKD, and MKA, I'd say currently I am thoroughly pleased with the improvements they've made. Yes, they could be better considering the new system they are using. But, beggars can't be choosers. I'm content.
