Anyway, look at Voldo in Soul Calibur. He wears borderline S&M gear, a codpiece, and performs pelvic thrusts to strike with. If that's acceptable (i personally have no problems with it), then yeah, skimpy outfits on men are fair game.

I really don't understand why a lot of people reacted the way they did with this thread. I know that the first picture is a bit shocking when you first look at it, but i find it really funny.

I wouldn't mind if some male had a little less clothes, if it fits them. With the costume they gave to Rain in this game i couldn't see something similar to what the OP showed us as an alternate. But if he had something more similar to his MKA costume, i could see an alternate similar to that, probably not that sexualised and a little less gay-looking, but i could see something like that work.

Jonhy Cage is another example of a guy who could wear less clothes. I really wouldn't be surprised if he wore only shorts, i think it fits with him.

Besides them, i think it could only work with Kai. It would be strange having the rest of the male charachters wearing less, just as Kitana's and Jade's alternate costume is strange, tthey should be a little bit more covered on that one. At least that is my opinion. The same happens with Sonya's lack of shirt in her first costume, it just doesn't feel right. But i really think that the two o most naked costumes fit Millena really well.

But well, even when it would be an interesting direction for NRS to taket, i really don't see it hapening.

Actually, Tekken 6 managed a decent version of it. Yes, you could make males take off their shirt, or females wear skimpy outfits, but it was mostly tasteful and all in good fun. The series already had boxing glove wearing kangaroos, raptors, and tiny Agumons, not like anything the game had to offer would throw it out of the boat.
