Mortal Kombat Movie Enters Final Talks With Jade Actor
Tati Gabrielle nearing Edenian assassin.

All eyes are on Mortal Kombat 1 as the latest installment of the long running video game franchise begins its promotional cycle, but lurking in the background is a movie sequel, which appears to be nearing a casting decision on one of its newest additions -- Jade. Read on for details:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, You and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina actress, Tati Gabrielle, has entered final talks to sign on for the role. Rumors persist that the theatrical sequel will feature Shao Kahn and conquered realm Edenia, making the arrival of Jade a natural addition to characters like Kitana and Queen Sindel.

Audition footage of New Zealand actress, Arawinda Kirana, previously circulated online after it was posted to Vimeo. The South Pacific nation has clearly been an area of interest, with Karl Urban reportedly up for Johnny Cage.

Jade was first introduced as an elusive secret opponent in Mortal Kombat II, taunting players from behind a tree in The Living Forest stage. Her story was fleshed out in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, reintroduced as a playable character deployed by Emperor Shao Kahn to capture her former friend, the renegade Kitana. Mortal Kombat Trilogy subsequently confirmed her allegiance to the Princess, thwarting an assassination attempt by Reptile.

Will the movie follow her plotlines from the games while embracing 'weirder' aspects of the franchise? The 2021 movie reboot made significant departures from established canon, and with the video game series introducing its third official timeline in 2023, what it means to adapt the games becomes slightly less straight forward.

Jade has made incosistent appearances in the game series over its thirty year history, last seen in Mortal Kombat 11 as an emerging ally for once and future Emperor, Kotal Kahn. She is confirmed to appear next in story driven mobile RPG Mortal Kombat: Onslaught.

Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack Details Posted to Amazon Italy
Six characters & five Kameos listed.

Mortal Kombat 1 has just been announced and if you purchase the Kollector's or Premium Editions you know you'll get access to a wave of downloadable content via The Kombat Pack, but what will that include? Amazon Italy has seemingly provided us with answers. Read on if you don't mind the spoilers:

Amazon Italy's Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition listing includes seemingly complete details for the six playable characters and five Kameo Fighters coming to the DLC Kombat Pack, in addition to the already confirmed Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage. Update: Perhaps unsurprisingly -- this information was removed from the listing some hours later, with the addition of box art. Continue reading for the original text.

Does being part of the confirmed playable roster preclude a character from being part of the Kameo Fighter roster? Apparently not! Johnny Cage, Tremor, Khameleon, Mavado, and Ferra round out an eclectic list of Kameo Fighters coming to first wave DLC. This could suggest emphasis on Kameos being a separate roster merely clarifies not every playable character will also function in this support role.

The Kameos join complete playable additions of Quan Chi, Ermac, Takahashi Takeda according to the list, as well as comic book guest characters Omni-Man (Image's Invincible), Homelander (The Boys), and Peacemaker (DC Comics character). The MK trio were popularly requested characters for Mortal Kombat 11 DLC.

Descrizione prodotto
Include: - Accesso anticipato ( minimo 72 ore) - Copia del gioco - Kombat Pack 1, che include: o 6 personaggi giocabili (Quan Chi, Omni-Man, Ermac, Peacemaker, Takeda, Homelander) o 5 personaggi kameo (Tremor, Johnny Cage, Khameleon, Mavado, Ferra) - Skin di Jean Claude Van Damme

Is it possible the information is incorrect, faulty, or outdated? There is a chance Amazon Italy has fallen for online speculation or hoaxes. Nothing should be considered absolute until we receive a more authoritative source, but for now, it appears we have a very interesting cast to look forward to.

It Is Time - Mortal Kombat Teaser Confirmed Tomorrow
First teaser coming Thursday!

It's official! The first teaser for the next Mortal Kombat video game will drop tomorrow! The developer has confirmed the time and date with a new 14 second clip that continues the motif of a ticking clock -- and functions as a bit of a teaser itself. Watch and speculate right here:

The trailer advances the countdown, confirming "it is time" on May 18th, 6AM PT. The info fades over an alarm clock stuck at 1, which cracks, adding evocative imagery to the video title of Tomorrow Is A New Dawn. Small, but potentially significant details.

Mortal Kombat 11 left the MK timeline in tatters as the Titan Kronika endured defeat after twisting the past and present together. Liu Kang and Shang Tsung battled for control in the aftermath, and although Ed Boon has confirmed the sequel will continue where MK11 left off -- exactly what that means for time & space remains to be seen.

MK first rebooted its timeline in 2011 with Mortal Kombat: a retelling and reshaping of events that were first depicted in the 1992 arcade game and its two subsequent sequels. To avert Shao Kahn's victory over Armageddon, the thunder god Raiden sent images to his earlier self, inadvertently creating a grim new reality explored in Mortal Kombat X.

A return to a previous era, such as the original game. Is this the new dawn that awaits? Share your thoughts in the comments and be with us tomorrow for the big reveal!
